The Prefecture Government Hall, also called municipal government hall, is a national historic site. The infrastructure were mainly left by Qing Dynasty when Japanese troops occupied the place in 1895. In 1904, the official Jeng Zoolane( 鄭如蘭), along with other 22 local gentlemen, raised funds to build the new government hall. However, the building was not officially in use until 1927. During WWII, part of the building was destroyed by the American troops. Later, further expansions and repairs occurred throughout the period.
